You’ve seen the adverts in Electronics Sourcing and now the time is right to tell you a little bit more about the event. Here, Electronic Component Show organiser Jack Pollard answers some questions on why the show is the most important addition to your diary for 2020.
Q) What is it?
An all-encompassing one-day tabletop exhibition and conference.
Thursday 14th May 2020.
Q) Where is it? Is it easy to get there?
The event is being held at the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel – which is built into Stadium MK, Milton Keynes, MK1 1ST. Direct access off the M1 corridor, the venue is accessible from all corners of the country.
Q) Is there parking?
Yes, there is free parking for visitors. The parking is signposted as hotel guest parking.
Q) As a reader of Electronics Sourcing, why should I attend?
The Electronic Component Show has been created for buyers and design engineers to gather in one place to share ideas, source new components & services and discover ways to improve their supply chain.
Whether you’re aiming to see the latest components, meet with your preferred suppliers, make new connections, discuss your BOM, get a solution to a current problem or get an insight into the newest & future technologies; ECS offers a place where you can do all of that and more.
The show will offer a dual seminar programme; offering a range of seminars for procurement professionals and a range of seminars for designers. The seminars will be delivered by fellow industry experts, offering an educational presentation and giving visitors important information that isn’t easily accessible by a quick search online.
Q) What makes the show different from any other?
The event has been created purely for the electronics community. From early design to PCBs to on-board and off-board components, services, CEMs, manufacturers, distributors and more—the only topic being discussed at the show is electronics.
As a one-day event and opening hours of 10am to 3pm, the Electronic Component Show offers a convenient and cost-effective day for anybody in the electronics industry. There is no need for flights, hotels or a late-night drive home. Simply arrive in the morning, attend the seminars, walk the exhibition floor and be on the road no later than 3pm having achieved what you set out to do.
Component obsolescence and end of life products frequently come up as a major concern amongst the Electronics Sourcing readers; as a result, we are delighted to announce we are partnering up with Rochester Electronics to offer the industry’s first EOL Clinic. This gives buyers and designers the opportunity to speak direct with an industry leader in this field to find real solutions to a real problem.
Q) What does it cost?
Nothing! The show is free to attend for those in the electronics industry.
Q) How do I attend?
You can register online. Simply visit www.electronic-component-show.co.uk and hit the ‘Register to Attend’ button on the homepage
Q) Is pre-registration necessary?
Although you can register when you arrive, it is highly recommended you pre-register before. Doing so will give you faster entry into the event, guarantees your inclusion to the prize giveaways that will take place and also means you will receive exclusive pre-show insights.
