More Pi anyone?

ESE NovDec14 ELEC Pg28 Camden 1CamdenBoss will exhibit new board enclosures for Raspberry Pi B+ and Banana Pi PCBs, plus a range of electromechanical components and enclosures from its portfolio

With its new Raspberry Pi B+ enclosures, CamdenBoss claims to have created a stylish, innovative and affordable housing for the newly release B+ board. The sleek design maximises the functionality of the Raspberry Pi B+ by allowing access to all ports without the need to remove the top of the enclosure.

Offered in crystal clear, white and black capped ABS, this easy to assemble, snap-fit, enclosure is designed to house the Raspberry Pi B+ securely with clip-in PCB grooves in the base. The CamdenBoss housing features all cut-outs pre-machined in the correct locations for every I/O connection and has a removable top panel opening for easy and direct access to the general purpose I/O (GPIO) connector. CamdenBoss believes users will prefer this, as they can keep the top cover in place when using this feature.

Easy assembly

For the Banana Pi, CamdenBoss’s enclosure houses the PCB via clip-in grooves so no glue or screws are required. All cut-outs are pre-cut into the case along with pre-defined microphone sensor holes. Front low voltage differential signalling (LVDS) connector and rear camera slots can be opened with a flat headed screwdriver, while the general purpose input/output (GPIO) headers knock-out can be pressed to remove.

Wall mountable and supplied with four rubber feet, the Banana Pi enclosure is available in crystal clear, black, carbon fibre acrylic ABS and yellow, all with gloss finish.

CamdenBoss will also show its room sensor enclosure designed for wall mount applications. Moulded in ABS UL94-V0, the front and back clip together, while internal PCB mount pillars are moulded into the front and back sections of the housing. There are also internal clips for snap-in mounting of PCBs.

Additional features include recessed front and rear faces for overlay/additional labelling, with plain and vented versions available. There is a rear knock-out for cable entry, plus multiple mounting choices and options for custom embossing on the front face.

Bright benefits

Also on show will be CamdenBoss’s latest series of switches, keypads and access control products featuring piezoelectric technology.

The CamdenBoss piezo switch range comprises one non-illuminated and two illuminated types. The non-illuminated switches have an 18mm diameter actuator and are available in natural, red and green anodised aluminium. The two illuminated 28mm diameter actuator switches provide point illumination with red/green LED feedback. For optimal colour-coded feedback, a pair of white plastic switches fitted with internal LEDs offer red, green and blue LED illumination.

Four new dedicated access control products will be highlighted, including a stainless steel exit switch with red/green illumination for high traffic areas, an HID proximity reader housed in a rugged aluminium enclosure, a stand-alone door entry controller and an illuminated combined HID proximity reader with two by six keypad.

CamdenBoss will also show its new vertical DIN rail mount housing, which is supplied complete with terminal blocks and features a clip together design for fast assembly. The CVB-Plus housing is a 22.5mm wide enclosure moulded in green self-extinguishing UL94-V0 flame retardant PA66. With solid and vented versions available, it features front and side label recesses and is supplied with four four-pole, five millimetre pitch pluggable terminal blocks yielding 16-poles within the width of the enclosure.
