Modular design expands industrial HMI panel PC options

1Based on a modular design, AAEON’s OMNI Series of HMI Panel PCs offer expanded capabilities for flexibility in harsh, demanding environments.  The series, with options for screen size, processor support and memory capacity, is now available from Review Display Systems (RDS).

The seven panel PCs in the OMNI Series, with accompanying panel kits and a CPU BOX kit, offer expansion that is not possible with most of the panel PCs available today.

In the OMNI series there are 4:3 aspect ratio models in sizes from 10.4 to 19-inches, and 16:9 aspect ratio versions, measuring 15.6 and 21.5-inches.

The aluminium design panel PCs are rugged and reliable, with fanless operation and a choice of touch screen HMI (Human Machine Interfaces), either P-CAP or resistive touch.

All panel PCs in the OMNI Series are based on either an Intel Celeron J1900 processor, operating at 2GHz, or an Intel N2807 processor, operating at 1.58GHz. A compact DDR3L SoDIMM (Small outline Dual In-line Memory Module) offers up to 4GByte or 8GByte RAM depending on the processor.

Highlights of the versatile panel PC series include the OMNI-2215-BT, which enhances performance compared with earlier models. The 21.5inch WXGA colour TFT-LCD has a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080.  The VESA 100/ panel mount design PC panel includes a selection of popular expansion interfaces and I/Os, such as USB 3.0, USB 2.0, HDMI and a 3-pin terminal block for an input ranging from 9 – 30V DC.

The two-point, multi-touch screen enables versatile input options, while the IP65-compliant front bezel protects the panel PC. Safety features include input over-voltage protection, over-voltage protection, low-voltage protection and reverse-voltage protection.

Of note in the smaller models, the 12.1-inch OMNI-3125-BT, with WXGA TFT-LCD and 1024 x 768 resolution, has a wide viewing angle of 160 degrees. Backlight MTBF is 50,000 hours. Like all of the panel PCs in the OMNI Series, it has a choice of storage, with two Mini card and two SIM card expansion slots, together with a PCIe (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express) connector.
