Torch is passed to the new cable generation

DSC04490aAllen Crossley, General Manager of Clynder Cables is retiring end of June 2014 after working with the company for the last 22 years.

Allen first joined Clynder Cables from British Driver Harris in 1992 and worked at the company’s site in Huyton, near Liverpool as Commercial Director. He was responsible for the day to day running of the company, managing the production and sales.

In 2002 he oversaw the move of Clynder Cables from Huyton to its present site in Miles Platting, Manchester.

This move enabled the company to reduce costs, broaden its product range and increase the distribution side of the business while promoting the brand of Clynder Cables within the electrical market more widely.

Most recently as General Manager Allen oversaw the sale of Clynder Cables from the Hostombe Group to its new owners Davro Investments Ltd. enabling a smooth transition and preserving the jobs of 7 staff members.

The business continues to move forward strongly, in no small part thanks to Allen’s tireless work and his colleagues wish him well in his well-earned retirement, where he will have more time to enjoy his gardening and walking his 6 German shepherds.

Allen says: “I am happy to be leaving the company in a strong position and in capable hands”.

Assistant General Manager Oliver Hingston, who will take over as General Manager from the 1st July says “I would like reiterate our thanks to Allen for his many years of hard work. I am looking forward to the challenge of taking this business forward over the coming years.”

Jeanette Forster formerly of Fine Wires Ltd. in Leigh will take up the new position of Commercial Manager from 1st July.

Clynder Cables offer Tri-rated cable, 2491B (low smoke LSOH) 2491X, Def. Stan and Solar cable among others to the UK Electrical market.

All cable is British made with colour consistency guaranteed and available off the shelf on a 2-3 day delivery.
