Harvard opens US warehouse facility

Harvard Engineering, world leader in the design, development and manufacture of LED drivers and control products for the lighting industry, is pleased to announce it has invested in a new warehouse facility in the USA.

The new warehouse, located in New Jersey, will allow Harvard to provide not only market leading delivery timescales across North America, but increased product stock levels across its full range of LED Drivers, LED Light Engines and  control systems. Additionally, local buffer stock will be held to support strategic customers who require just-in-time delivery.

The new location was chosen because Harvard has a substantial customer base in the area, it is in close proximity to major seaports and airports, and is a major gateway to and from the UK. The new warehouse will allow Harvard to deliver stock items by ground delivery in around five working days across the whole of North America.

Antony Corrie, Vice President at Harvard Engineering Americas, commented, “We decided to invest in a local warehouse because our customers need flexibility. Our customer’s cash-flow is better invested in developing key products, rather than being tied up in excessive inventory levels due to poor industry lead-times. Our standard manufacturing lead-times are half as long as most of our competitors, but our industry is moving so quickly that waiting the lead-time to receive the product reduces our customer’s ability to develop their own products and grow. Having a warehouse in the US will strengthen our position to provide our customers with the products they want, when they want them. We are committed to providing customers with the best service possible and our warehouse will allow us to do this.”

The new warehouse will be fully operational by the end of February 2014. All Harvard’s products are manufactured in the UK.
