New wireless switch from Cherry communicates directly with lamp

cherry switchesIn addition to several application examples for its new energy-harvesting wireless switch designed for house and building technology applications, Cherry is showing another highlight at this years’ Electronica together with its partner NXP: With Cherry’s energy-harvesting wireless switch it is now possible to switch on and off lamps without detour!

With the JN5168 wireless microcontroller from NXP, which integrates directly into a standard E27 base of an LED-lamp thanks to its compact design, lamps fitted with the appropriate E27 base bulb can now be switched on and off directly with Cherry’s energy-harvesting wireless switch without the need for any further installations. The chip from NXP includes the complete receiving unit. By using Cherry’s wireless switch also the lamp’s dimming function is incorporated as standard.

The compact design of the wireless-switch-generator and its low actuating forces allow it to be used in a wide variety of applications, e.g. in flat wall-mounted switches or miniature hand-held transmitters. The batteryless function guarantees the wireless switch is fully operational at any time and also makes it very environmentally friendly.
