GTK UK has launched a new range of zero insertion force (ZIF) connectors for flat flexible cable (FFC) and flat panel cable (FPC) on 0.5 or 1.0mm pitch. The range is ideal for connecting displays to PCBs and can also be used as an alternative to traditional ribbon cable connectors between boards where PCB space is at a premium.
Both the 0.5 and 1.0mm pitch connector ranges are available for vertical or horizontal cable entry. The horizontal connectors offer the option of top or bottom contacts and are available with slide or flip actuators. The slide actuator is described as the most versatile, with a high level of cable retention, while the flip actuator is suited to mid-board applications. The 0.5mm pitch family are available in four to 60 ways and the 1.0mm pitch in up to 30 positions.
