In future, Arrow will market and distribute wireless modules from IMST. As part of the agreement, Arrow will provide design support and certifications for wireless solutions.
Arrow customers will also have access to IMST’s pre-certified WiMod radio modules for the royalty-free ISM bands, including, for example, the iM871A-Wireless M bus module. This has a measured open-air range of 3,000m and minimum power consumption of 50nA when idle. It boasts high ranges in buildings and fulfils the requirements regarding battery life in current smart-meter installations.
Other applications for IMST wireless solutions include automotive, medical, industrial and building automation, as well as telecommunications.
Vice president of engineering for Arrow in EMEA, David Spragg, added: “With IMST as part of our EMEA engineering solution centre, we can now offer support both in the development and international certification of wireless products. IMST’s wireless power experience offers new areas of activity in the market.”
